Sabal domingensis is found from northwest Haiti to the central Dominican Republic, and is also present in Cuba. Although similar, it is a larger type than the Sabal palmetto. It has large leaves. It can grow up to 16 meters in its native country.
It can take a fair ammount of frost. This palm is easy to propagate from seed. Germination time is sometimes a few months.
